The Role: S&P Global Energy, a premier provider of market data and benchmark prices for the energy and commodities markets, is seeking a skilled Compensation Analyst to bolster the Energy Global Sales Compensation team. You will be instrumental in executing and managing the division’s annual sales compensation plans, ensuring strict adherence to audit and compliance standards. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining SOP documentation, refining incentive policies, delivering monthly reports, and providing ongoing operational support. This position offers a chance to drive process improvements and support strategic compensation initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The Team: Provides a Sales Compensation framework that incentivizes the SPGE commercial teams to drive growth and retain existing business. The team ensures that payments against compensation plans are made in a timely, reliable manner and that the business is supported in all related matters.

What’s in it for you: The role offers the opportunity to gain a centralized view of S&P Global Energy Finance, with responsibilities focusing on the administration of annual sales compensation plans, from revenue analysis through to payment calculations and global payroll processing. There is a track record of advancement within this Finance team and the broader S&P Global Finance organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI/advanced analytics use cases for commissions reporting and dashboards (Milestones reporting, monthly commission payroll reports via Power BI, YTD commissionable performance)

  • Develop and maintain all SOP documents and incentive policies

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc analysis and reporting

  • Collaborate closely with members of Finance, Commercial Operations and Commercial teams

  • Ensure that audit compliance is adhered to through accurate record maintenance

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrates expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, leveraging advanced data manipulation, reporting, and automation skills to drive efficiency and accuracy.

  • Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, accuracy, and quality in all deliverables.

  • 5+ years of experience in reporting, data analysis, and managing complex data sets to support strategic decision-making.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at translating complex data into clear, actionable insights tailored to diverse audiences.

  • Programming or audit experience is a valuable asset, further strengthening analytical rigor and ensuring process integrity.

  • Must be willing to work in US-UK hours
