The Compensation Consultant serves as a subject matter expert in employee compensation programs and as a functional expert in compensation related systems and tools. This role is responsible for analyzing and administering compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate talent while ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The consultant partners closely with HR leaders, Compensation partners, and cross functional teams to align compensation strategies and supporting systems with organizational goals.
Duties Include:
- Lead system enhancement projects by gathering requirements, performing impact analyses, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Develop and maintain data integrations between compensation tools and HRIS platforms to ensure data accuracy and real‑time updates.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root‑cause analyses, and coordinate fixes with HRIS, vendors, or IT partners.
- Create and maintain standardized compensation reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business decision-making.
- Train HR Business Partners and managers on use of compensation systems, job architecture tools, and planning platforms.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies, tools, and system capabilities to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision making within Total Rewards.
- Manage survey vendor platforms and market pricing tools, including data uploads, job matching, and system optimization.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FLSA, Equal Pay, pay transparency laws, etc.).
- Develops and maintains compensation policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Conducts pay equity & FLSA analyses and partner with HR and Legal on remediation strategies.
- End-to-end project management of annual compensation projects (i.e. merit, incentive payments, promotion cycles, etc.).
- Supports HR and people leaders in applying compensation guidelines and making equitable pay decisions.
- Models financial impacts of proposed changes to pay programs, budgets, and headcount plans.
- Participate in salary surveys and stay abreast of internal and external compensation changes to ensure compliance and competitiveness of program.
- Review and evaluate job descriptions to determine appropriate classification, leveling, and pay grade assignments.
- Maintain company-wide salary structures, ensuring consistency and internal equity across roles and departments.
- Conduct internal analyses to address compression issues, pay relationships, and job family framework alignment.

Basic Qualifications:
Proficiency in compensation analysis, design and administration.
Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use pivot tables, charts and complex formula. Experience with HRIS (Workday) systems used to manage compensation.
Experience with Compensation and Survey Technology (i.e. PayFactors)
Deep understanding of compensation principles, practices and regulations, including FLSA, wage and hour laws and pay transparency.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
CCP certification
Advanced project management skills and able to meet deadlines on time, flawlessly.
Ability to identify and resolve complex compensation issues.
Strong written and verbal communications skills and able to explain complex compensation concepts to stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with HR and other departments to deliver results.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
