Compensation Analyst

Summary:

The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for providing senior level support to GEODIS Americas in the development and administration of compensation programs for all employees by managing, coordinating and upholding compensation programs and/or philosophies.

Job Duties:

  • Performs benchmarking, analyzes internal and external pay data and makes recommendation for salary changes to ensure equity

  • Advises management on compensation actions for employees

  • Reviews proposed salary actions to ensure conformance with established guidelines and policies

  • Participates in salary surveys and analyzes results

  • Assists in updating company pay grades

  • Writes and maintains job descriptions for all business units

  • Performs job analysis and reviews proposals for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate exemption assignment and pay according to the FLSA regulations

  • Manages the job title database in the HRIS

  • Audits system job codes, title exemption status and job titles on an ongoing basis

  • Provides salary data for RFPs, account startups and other hiring needs

  • Manages the non-exempt common review date process for assigned locations

  • Assists with design and management of the awards and recognition programs for the Company

  • Assists with design and documentation of hourly incentive plans for assigned locations

  • Assists with the exempt common review date for all exempt employees

  • Assists in providing feedback on employee reviews

  • Provides reports relating to salary increases, bonus payments, job codes, EEO group and titles as needed

  • Evaluates and improves compensation processes, forms and spreadsheets on an ongoing basis

  • Serves as a source of guidance and mentoring to the Compensation Analyst

  • Works with C-level Executives on compensation issues

  • Assists VP of Total Rewards and the Senior Compensation Manager with global compensation projects

  • Participates in human resources related special projects as needed

  • Other duties as required and assigned

     

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of compensation principles

  • Comprehensive legal and compliance knowledge basic Human Resources laws and regulations

  • Prior experience working with HRIS systems

  • Strong Excel experience, to include: v-look up and conditional formulas

  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

 

 Environment:

While performing this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
