This role is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and administration of sales compensation programs to drive performance, align with business objectives, and ensure accurate and timely payouts. The Sr. Manager of Sales Compensation will collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, HR, and Legal teams, providing data-driven insights and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, leadership skills, and experience managing complex incentive programs within high-tech or fast-growing organizations. This role also oversees reporting, audits, and training related to compensation programs while mentoring junior team members to promote accuracy and operational excellence. Accountabilities:
- Lead the annual design and review of sales incentive compensation plans, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, sales targets, and market benchmarks.
- Model and forecast financial impacts of compensation plan changes, presenting actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
- Administer end-to-end sales compensation operations, including quota and territory management, data integrity, calculation, and dispute resolution.
- Develop and maintain policies, documentation, and procedures related to compensation programs, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to provide insights into plan performance, cost of sales, and sales effectiveness.
- Conduct audits of compensation data, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate payouts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide training, guidance, and mentorship to team members and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in sales compensation, finance, or sales operations.
- 5+ years managing compensation programs, including high-complexity incentive plans.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Knowledge of sales processes, territory and quota management, and compensation best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with compensation systems, reporting tools, and process optimization.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
