Total Rewards Manager
Description -
Total Rewards Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of compensation and benefit programs throughout the assigned cluster of countries, delivered through a team of experienced Total Reward consultants. The TR Manager will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to guide staff in providing cost effective solutions within established policies. The role includes accountability for results in terms of cost, direction and people management. As part of the wider EMEA Market TR Leadership team the role is also expected to provide guidance on process improvements and recommendations for change in benefit delivery in alignment with regional goals and objectives. People management includes managing and monitoring operational/tactical activities of the team, as well as performance management, development and feedback activities. This role reports to the EMEA Markets Total Reward Director.
Additional guidance/criteria:
- Will be personally responsible for TR delivery for one or more countries within the EMEA Market. Country responsibilities may vary according to need.
- Will be responsible for up to 5 direct reports. Headcount and country responsibilities may vary over time according to need.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of country Total Rewards Consultants by monitoring and/or setting performance goals and objectives, staffing program and project teams, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of compensation and/or benefits programs.
- Sets program expectations for implementation across different businesses and/or geographies; motivates, coaches, and fosters creativity within the team.
- Responsible for TR delivery in one or more countries aligning delivery of programs across broad employee bases.
- Provides guidance on total rewards programs as a subject matter expert and designs total rewards programs of moderate to high complexity.
- Is accountable for impact analysis of compensation and benefits programs and initiatives and the financial and legal outcomes of programs.
- Contributes to the development of total rewards strategy, projects, and corporate initiatives within the wider EMEA Markets TR Leadership team.
- Identifies potential compliance issues and recommends solutions.
- Communicates and consults HR, functional partners and business managers on total rewards strategy, solutions, results delivery, and compensation and benefits guidance.
- Manages compensation, benefits, or total rewards change initiatives (e.g., new benefits plans, changes in variable pay practices) across a broad employee base.
- Acts as escalation point for issues arising out of country TR delivery. Manages an effective relationship with the country HR Leads.
Education and Experience Required:
- First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
- Typically, 8-10 years related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, and/or human resources.
- Typically, some supervisory experience is preferred, which may include experience of managing teams in a virtual project environment.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Content expert in the field of compensation and/or benefits with a strong systematic knowledge of total rewards, as well as other functions.
- Strong financial and business acumen; general industry knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to employee compensation and benefits.
- Strong aptitude for leadership and a developing skill set which includes experience of goal-setting, conflict resolution, performance management, meeting leading, budget planning, problem solving, and evaluation.
- Strong project management skills.
- Very strong communication and influence skills, including both written and verbal forms.
- Very strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including competency in financial analysis.
- Ability to apply management core competencies in working with both internal clients and external partnerships.
- Ability to understand customer needs and interpret needs into workable programs.
