Job Description: Compensation Administrator 

Employment Type: Full Time 

Position Summary 

The Compensation Administrator supports the design, implementation, and administration of the organization’s compensation programs. This role ensures pay practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with applicable laws while maintaining accurate compensation data and supporting HR and leadership in compensation-related decisions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Administer compensation programs including salary structures, merit increases, bonuses, and incentives  

  • Maintain and update job classifications, salary grades, and pay ranges  

  • Conduct market research and salary benchmarking using compensation surveys  

  • Analyze compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness  

  • Support annual compensation review cycles (merit, bonus, promotions)  

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations  

  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS and compensation systems  

  • Prepare compensation reports, dashboards, and audit documentation  

  • Partner with HR, finance, and leadership to provide compensation guidance  

  • Assist in job evaluations and compensation recommendations  

Work Environment  

  • Office-based with potential for hybrid/remote flexibility  

  • May require occasional extended hours if needed

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field  

  • At least 7 years of experience in compensation, HR, or related field  

  • Knowledge of compensation principles and practices  

  • Experience with HRIS systems and compensation tools  

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills  

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy  

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills  

  • Experience with compensation surveys (e.g., Mercer, Radford, Willis Towers Watson)  

  • Knowledge of regulations such as FLSA and pay equity laws  

  • Certification such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or SHRM-CP
