Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Compensation Analyst to support the programs and practices that help us attract, retain, and engage the talented employees who make our mission possible. In this role, you will provide compensation consultation and analysis to support effective pay decisions aligned with Vitalant's compensation philosophy, culture, and guidelines. You will evaluate jobs, develop and maintain job descriptions and job architecture, participate in compensation surveys, and conduct market research and analysis related to competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends. This position also serves as the primary administrator for Vitalant's compensation market analysis tool, ensuring accurate data management and reporting that supports informed compensation decisions across the organization.

As a Compensation Analyst, you'll get to:

  • Provide compensation consultation and guidance to HR Partners and leaders on job evaluation, market competitiveness, compensation policies, and pay decisions.

  • Conduct market pricing, compensation analyses, and pay equity reviews to support competitive and equitable compensation practices.

  • Manage and maintain job architecture, job descriptions, grading structures, and compensation documentation across the organization.

  • Administer annual compensation programs, including merit increases, incentive awards, and employee recognition programs.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to develop market-based hiring recommendations and address compensation-related retention challenges.

  • Monitor compensation trends, minimum wage regulations, and competitive market data to assess organizational impact and recommend solutions.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and administrator for compensation systems, market pricing tools, and compensation data analytics.

  • Develop and deliver compensation-related training, communications, and resources for leaders, HR teams, and employees.

  • Support workflow coordination, training, and mentoring activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience in compensation and/or benefits required.

  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal wage and hour regulations required.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
PHR, CCP or equivalent (World At Work) certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE
Five years of related Human Resources experience to include:

  • Three years compensation management experience required ideally in a healthcare organization.

  • Experience working with HR systems required.

  • Experience working with external market survey software platforms required.

Experience with CompAnalyst preferred.
Experience with Workday preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Must maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communications and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management and provide consistently high levels of customer service.

  • Excellent analytical, statistical, personal organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient computer skills, including intermediate level spreadsheet application ability.
