The Compensation Analyst 1 provides a broad range of analytical support to the compensation team. The primary responsibilities include administrative support of pay structures, incentive programs and annual compensation review, market research, report creation and data integrity. Analysts will also be assigned to ad hoc client-facing project work in partnership with Compensation Consultants.
A day in the life…
Administer incentive programs for annual bonus, quarterly bonus, commissions, and productivity incentives
Maintain job and compensation-related data by creating job governance materials, submitting requests to create or modify jobs, maintaining location details, minimum wage and minimum salary requirements by location
Execute pay structure and individual pay changes related to minimum wage and minimum salary increases
Support market analysis by working with Compensation Consultants to match jobs and assisting with annual survey participation
Create and update client-facing compensation tools and user instructions
Produce and distribute compensation-related reporting and audits
Partner with Compensation Consultants to perform client-based project work
Support annual compensation review process in Workday by participating in planning, completing audits and creating reports
Research and resolve employee portal cases escalated from HR Service Center
Create and maintain process documentation and workflows, streamlining processes where possible
You own this if you have…
2+ years of experience in compensation, accounting, finance, or similar analytic roles
Basic knowledge of technical and legal aspects of compensation a plus
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel – able to create advanced formulas, pivot tables and macros
Ability to share data analysis and conclusions in a way that is easily understood
Ability to deliver accurate and complete work in a timely manner
Organized approach to tracking and delivering on multiple concurrent priorities
Ability to collaborate within the team and across functional teams
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and respectfully
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Experience with Workday a plus
Bachelor's Degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred

This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to work onsite four (4) days per week and be located within a commutable distance of the Nordstrom corporate offices in Seattle, WA
