Job Summary
The compensation analyst will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s compensation programs. This role is responsible for ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance across all compensation structures. The analyst will provide data-driven insights and analytical support to key stakeholders, playing a critical role in attracting, motivating, and retaining talent.
Job Duties
Compensation Administration & Review: Execute all activities related to merit cycles, incentive pay, and equity, ensuring accurate data, calculations, and timely payout for team members in the U.S. and India. Review and approve proposed salary actions (e.g. promotions, transfers, new hires) for adherence to internal equity and established compensation guidelines.
Market Analysis & Benchmarking: Lead or assist in participating in global, national, and industry-specific salary surveys. Analyze competitive data to develop and maintain the company’s salary structures and compensation ranges, ensuring external competitiveness.
Job Architecture & Evaluation: Conduct job audits and evaluations to determine appropriate salary grade, title, and FLSA exemption status. Create, maintain, and update the internal job catalog and collaborate with People Business Partners to ensure job descriptions accurately reflect required skills and responsibilities.
Compliance & Policy: Stay current on all federal, state, and local laws governing compensation in the U.S. (including minimum wage, pay equity, and overtime regulations), as well as an awareness of basic regulatory requirements for India compensation and labor laws. Review and recommend changes to existing compensation policies and practices to maintain legal compliance and governance.
Reporting & Consulting: Provide analytical support, reports, and data visualizations to People Business Partners and business leaders on compensation trends, spend, and the financial impact of proposed changes. Serve as a consultant to managers on complex pay decisions and incentive plan mechanics across regions.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administrations, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: 4+ years of direct, progressive experience in compensation analysis or a related role.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, and modeling).
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, including FLSA.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage large data sets, identify trends, draw conclusions, and present data clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
Global Experience: Prior experience supporting compensation programs or market analysis for an India-based population is highly desirable.
Certifications: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or working toward certification.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical compensation details into understandable business language for non-HR audiences.
Time Management: Proven ability to manage work across different time zones and prioritize competing global deadlines.
