Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compensation Analyst to join our HR team at Altera! This role is pivotal in partnering with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to attract and retain top talent while ensuring internal equity and compliance with legal standards.

The role requires 4x a week onsite in San Jose, CA.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to provide compensation guidance during hiring and promotion processes. 

  • Maintain and update compensation databases and tools for accuracy and usability. 

  • Analyze job roles, salary data, and compensation structures to support pay decisions and strategy. 

  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to evaluate compensation trends and competitiveness. 

  • Support annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases and bonus allocations. 

  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on compensation metrics and insights. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations. 

  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze results to inform strategy. 

Salary Range 

 

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.  

$120K - $140K USD 

 

We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation analysis or related HR role. 

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems. 

  • Familiarity with compensation survey tools (e.g., Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson). 

  • Knowledge of FLSA, EEOC, and other relevant labor laws. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 

  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification is a plus.
