DescriptionSavannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Compensation Analyst to provide compensation consulting services to the Human Resources organization and to line organizations at the Savannah River National Laboratory. The role interfaces with leadership across multiple lines of business and with Human Resources leadership in designing, developing, and delivering total compensation policies and programs that enables SRNL to recruit and retain the staff necessary to empower the laboratory to become the premier research institute in the world.
ResponsibilitiesAct as a compensation advisor to insure appropriate implementation of all compensation programs.
- Conduct internal equity and job analysis across SRNL organizations, reviewing positions for proper SRNL job ladder and band assignment to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Research, benchmark, and analyze data to establish appropriate salary levels, and pay bands for targeted new positions.
- Participate in compensation surveys, perform survey job matching, and conduct ad-hoc benchmarking and market research as needed.
- Re-evaluate current job positions, promotions, and compensation proposals for internal job moves.
- In support of the annual Compensation Increase Plan, conduct market analysis, gap to market analysis, and develop an annual merit matrix, making pay band structure movement decisions.
- Assist in the allocation of organizational compensation budgets and tracking of actual spend versus budget.
- Create, modify, and maintain required reports.
- Run ad-hoc queries as requested.
- Ability to analyze data and derive conclusions and make recommendations or explanations as necessary.
- Maintain a strong commitment to the development and sustainment of an organizational culture reflecting the highest standards of integrity, values and ethics
- Work performed without direction, exercising latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
- Interprets local, state, and federal laws regulating compensation practices.
- Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or other related fields and 4+ years of relevant experience.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Human Resources experience with a Department of Energy Managing and Operating contractor.
- Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to handle confidentiality concerning employee information.
- The incumbent must have proven ability to work in a consultative manner as a team member in a collaborative environment.
- This position requires a high level of proficiency in business computing software, HRIS systems and reporting writing tools, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
- Experience with Oracle HRIS is a plus.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) designation or progress towards a CCP.
