DescriptionThe Compensation Analyst Lead provides advanced, professional support for Archrock’s compensation programs. This role may serve as an expert individual contributor or lead a small team, mentoring junior analysts. The position plays a critical role in ensuring compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with federal and state regulations.
ResponsibilitiesCompensation Program Management
- Actively participates in the planning, design, implementation and administration of compensation programs such as the Annual Merit cycle, Annual Short Term Incentive, Quarterly Incentive Plan and Long Term Incentive Plan.
- Participates in Salary Surveys and analyzes market data to identify trends and make recommendations
- Conducts pay equity analyses and maintains job and salary structures for competitiveness and internal equity
- Oversees special bonus and compensation programs.
- Assists in preparing materials for Compensation Committee meetings and the Annual Proxy.
Stock Plan Administration
- Administers the Company’s LTI program, including but not limited to vesting and award events, participant communication and notices, taxation determination, reconciliation and reporting, DWAC process.
- Interfaces with the Company’s captive broker and inside legal counsel to ensure that stock transactions follow all required legal parameters.
Strategic Advisory and Compliance
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners to support and advise managers on compensation-related activities such as strategic new hire offers and promotions.
- Stays current on compensation-related legislation and ensures compliance with employment laws.
- Partners with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Tax and Legal to ensure accurate data integration and compliance.
- Leads or contributes to special projects such as organizational reviews, compensation assessments, and vendor evaluations.
- Prepares reports and provides analytical support for ongoing activities, plans and programs, and special projects and initiatives.

QualificationsSkills and Abilities:
Ability to:
- Perform all assigned duties.
- Design, communicate, implement and administer compensation programs, including incentive plans.
- Analyze, identify root cause, and develop fit-for-purpose solutions for a broad scope of geographic and organizational complexities.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and discretion with confidential data.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Consistently demonstrate ability to think creatively, make reliable and accurate decisions, and develop sound conclusions and recommendations to leadership.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication and persuasion skills to interact with senior management and colleagues.
Proficiency with:
- Advanced Excel and HRIS required.
- Oracle Cloud knowledge preferred
- Power BI knowledge preferred
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of compensation theory, practices, and methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of compliance and governance requirements.
- Stock administration
Minimum Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Science, Finance or related degree.
- Professional certification strongly preferred (CCP preferred)
Minimum Experience:
- Typically, 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation.
- Experience should include frequent problem identification and resolution and project/initiative communication and implementation.
- Experience in the Energy/Utilities sector preferred
- Demonstrated successful Project Management experience.
Leadership:
- Typically, no direct reports but frequently leads compensation projects.
- Expected to mentor less experienced HR staff.
