What you will be doing 

Albertsons Companies has an exciting opportunity to drive the compensation strategy and execution of our current compensation programs. This leader will influence and shape new specialized programs to help support the business during a time of unprecedented growth in our organization. In this role you will play an integral part in how we retain and reward our employees across nearly 300,000 associates. 

In this role, you will lead the strategic development, design, implementation, communication, and compliance of compensation programs to align with the Company's compensation philosophy and business objectives. This position will collaborate with cross functional teams to identify, develop and deliver strategic compensation programs that meet and anticipate the internal needs of the organization while monitoring external trends in the marketplace.

The position will be based in Dallas, TX or one of our regional offices in Boise, ID 

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Lead compensation projects: managing project plans, project scopes, defining objectives, detailing key milestones, and managing all workflows involved to innovate and expand current compensation programs  
  • Drive the development and execution of compensation processes and initiatives such as annual salary structure, survey submissions and merit reviews, incentive administration, competitive and ad hoc analyses, projects and reporting. 
  • Consult and advise client groups on compensation issues such as job offers, job evaluations, FLSA exemption reviews, compensation analyses, promotions, etc. 
  • Lead annual review cycle through consultation and collaboration with senior leaders to ensure a well-defined and efficient process. 
  • Develop quantitative models to assess competitive practice and the organization's competitive position for specific programs. 
  • Develop compensation framework for market pricing, job architecture, and salary structures. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client group Human Resource Business Partners and Managers to ensure effective communication of compensation strategies. 
  • Partner with others on Compensation and HR teams to support workload and execution, sharing/transfer of knowledge, increase understanding of international issues and all aspects and considerations around compensation programs and practices. 
  • Provide and deliver compensation training and education materials to HR and people managers.

  • Action-oriented, hands-on, able to work independently and collaboratively with a sense of urgency 
  • Ability to work across teams and business units to lead discussions, influence and build consensus. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact, influence, negotiate and build trust effectively at all levels of management and peers. 
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. 

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: 

  • BA/BS degree, preferably with emphasis in HR, Accounting, Finance or General Business 
  • 8+ years of broad-based compensation experience required 
  • CCP certification or course completion highly desired 
  • Previous compensation experience in a large, publicly traded organization 
  • Demonstrated subject matter expert in compensation plan development 
  • Experience in compensation benchmarking, fixed and variable compensation plans, total rewards programs and job evaluation is a must 
  • Experience with Oracle compensation modules or cloud-based HR/Comp systems
