Position Overview:
We are seeking a Compensation Specialist to join our team on an 8-month contract basis. As a growing organization there are opportunities for high performing individuals to become permanent members of the BWXT team.
As our Compensation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the successful application and administration of BWXT’s compensation programs in Canada. Collaborating with the Senior Manager, Compensation, you will ensure that our compensation practices align with organizational goals, market competitiveness, and legislative compliance. This role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, clear communication with stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, with a dotted line to the HR Director, Commercial Operations, this position does not have direct reports and supports compensation initiatives across the organization.

On-site, Cambridge ON - hybrid
Consideration would be made for the right candidate for fully remote work if the candidate is not in driving distance to the Cambridge location.
Your Day to Day as our Compensation Specialist:
Required Qualifications:
University degree/college diploma specializing in Human Resources preferred.
Working towards a CHRL designation and/or CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) preferred.
3+ years’ of relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Intermediate knowledge of compensation administration and practices is required.
Previous experience with Mercer IPE point-factor job evaluation system and job architecture experience OR Korn-Ferry point-factor job evaluation.
Experience and/or knowledge of provincial (Ontario) and Federal Pay Equity Legislation an asset.
Proven analytical abilities for evaluation purposes and analysis of survey materials.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient with PowerPoint.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $68000 and $100000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
