We are seeking a Senior Compensation Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll partner closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to ensure our pay programs are competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. While you’ll lead the execution of established compensation programs, you’ll also have the opportunity to identify improvements and provide data-driven insights that shape how we reward and support our employees. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee administration of employee salary structures and compensation programs; provide financial, market, and legal analysis and insights; draft internal management proposals and reports.
  • Administer employee incentive programs; identify and respond to the needs of internal stakeholders; ensure compliance with external legal requirements.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and local / global HR objectives. 
  • Lead the execution of the annual compensation review process; provide relevant payroll and market data analyses and insights; draft employee communications and management briefings; prepare line management decision-making tools.
  • Oversee market pricing activities, including matching internal positions to external data using standardized surveys.
  • Conduct job evaluations and market pricing using survey data and internal leveling frameworks. 
  • Maintain and update salary structures, pay ranges, and wage progression schedules. 
  • Provide guidance on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations. Develop tools to assist and guide managers and HR team through compensation decisions. 
  • Develop policies and procedures for job classification, compensation, job analysis, and other related topics; monitor implementation and ongoing administration. 
  • Prepare detailed job descriptions and classification systems and define job levels and families, in partnership with line managers. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour regulations. 
  • Support the integration of programs following mergers and acquisitions

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in Compensation or Total Rewards required

  • Previous experience in other Human Resources functions preferred

  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills 

  • Knowledge of Barrick and NGM policies, procedures, guidelines, etc. 

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation regulations including DOL, FLSA, etc. • Strong knowledge of Office software, including Microsoft Excel 

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of people, including senior leadership and executives 

  • Ability to organize and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to manage and manipulate large amounts of data and information to make fact-based recommendation
