Compensation Consultant

Roblox is seeking an experienced and strategic India Global Compensation Consultant to fill a unique hybrid role for a 6 months contract. You will serve as the dedicated Compensation Business Partner for our India office, while also owning and leading our global compensation programs and operations.

This is not a traditional role—you'll be the expert on the ground in India, providing strategic guidance and local market expertise. At the same time, you'll be the driving force behind our company-wide compensation cycles, ensuring our programs are meaningful, fair, and aligned with our global business priorities. Reporting to the Director of Compensation Programs, Operations and Systems, you will play a critical part in delivering an exceptional portfolio of compensation programs that inspire our global workforce.

Shift timing:  This role follows a split schedule — 11:00 AM–5:00 PM IST in-office, followed by 8:30 PM–11:00 PM IST from home, to allow overlap with our US stakeholders.

You will:

  • Act as the primary compensation partner for our India office, advising People Business Partners, business leaders, and recruiting teams on all compensation-related matters.
  • Develop and implement innovative compensation strategies to attract and retain top talent in India. You will ensure these strategies reflect local market conditions, internal equity, and our pay-for-performance philosophy.
  • Provide expert guidance on compensation activities, including new hire offers, promotions, transfers, performance calibration, and compensation adjustments.
  • Conduct benchmarking of jobs and create competitive market ranges for our India office to ensure our compensation packages remain highly competitive.
  • Own Roblox’s bi-annual compensation cycles, from planning to execution.
  • Manage the operations of all compensation programs, including policies and processes, to enhance efficiency and scale.
  • Build detailed compensation models and conduct in-depth analysis to inform, influence, and support key business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements that will optimize performance and support future growth.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze current compensation programs to identify areas for improvement and align them with our strategic priorities.

You have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 10 years of corporate and/or consulting compensation experience.
  • Deep expertise in various compensation models, structures, and vehicles, with strong knowledge of industry trends.
  • Familiarity with multiple benchmarking surveys and data analysis approaches.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex topics to senior executives and stakeholders, influencing decisions and solving highly complex problems.
  • A track record of independently managing projects across multiple functions and client groups.
  • Exceptional planning, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Workday, SQL, Python, Tableau, or other BI tools is a plus.
