The Human Resources Section welcomes your interest in the HR Compensation Analyst temporary position. This position ensures compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and compliance with relevant compensation laws and rule.
Responsibilities in this position include:
There are two ways to qualify for this position:
Experience Only:
Six (6) years of professional experience in data analysis or compensation analysis
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to human resource management, business administration, accounting, finance, economics, psychology, industrial relations, industrial/organizational psychology, or another field related to the work assignment
AND
Two years of professional experience data analysis or compensation analysisPrior state experience related to the duties of this position
Prior direct experience working in compensation management and/or analysis
Detail oriented.
Customer service and problem solving focused.
Experience querying and managing large databases.
Demonstrable experience using statistical software for data analysis.
Experience using statistical methods to analyze data and evaluate program impact.
Technical report writing skills.
Ability to set and prioritize workload, develop a work plan with tasks, time frames, milestones, and resources.
Knowledge of the Equal Pay fo Equal Work Ace and its impact on compensation including compensation analysis.
Experience in ensuring that compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (pay equity, State Personnel Board Rule, Agency SOPs, etc.).
Prior human resources experience.
Experience in comparing candidate information against agency data to verify accurate, equitable, and competitive compensation offers.
SPCP in Job Evaluation
CCP or other compensation-based certifications
SHRM-CP or PHR
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
Ability to use logic in making decisions based on big-picture thinking; and
Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed, while possessing the ability to work in a team environment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
