Due to a recent promotion on the team, City of Redmond Human Resources Department is currently hiring for a Labor Relations and Compensation Analyst. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of the HR Director and have opportunities to sit at the table and support the key stakeholders during labor negotiations. You’ll be collaborating with eight distinct union groups, each made up of four separate unions. In this role, you will represent the city, and our values of service, integrity, accountability, belonging and stewardship.
Note: This position will start as limited duration through May 31, 2026, with the intention of turning this regular full-time on June 1st, 2026.While the focus can change from time to time, this position largely involves the following:
Provide technical support to lead negotiator through scheduling, creating agendas, taking detailed notes during meetings, and keeping all documentation organized, and write, edit and maintain job descriptions.
Collect and maintain compensation analysis data, including, external market, external salary surveys and internal equity data, classifications and pay plans.
Conduct job analysis and maintain market data analysis as required.
Identifying issues or conflicts in contract languages or policies.

You are thorough and detail-oriented, excelling at keeping track of all tasks assigned to you and knowing where to find information, data, tasked entrusted to you.
You work well under pressure and have an ability to know how to handle several projects at one time with competing priorities. You are very well organized so that you can track and meet critical deadlines.
You naturally think ahead and can anticipate future needs, spot potential issues, and troubleshoot or plan for preemptive solutions, as it relates to labor support tasks and compensation work.
You are skilled at being proactive, self-motivated to stay on track, effective at communicating, and collaborative in keeping others updated on your status.
You have a personality that is somewhat outgoing and can comfortably communicate in-person with consultants, lawyers, department directors, union representatives, and more.
You are comfortable being the “master of ceremonies” and keep meetings with key stakeholders on track while guiding them through the work they need to do.
You can effectively and timely to research, whether it’s contracts, collective bargaining agreements, policies and procedures, or other human resources issues.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business, Finance, or related field
Three (3) or more years of directly related experience
Any combination equivalent of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
