Job Summary

The Compensation Analyst supports the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs across the organization. This role is responsible for conducting market analyses, evaluating job classifications, managing salary structures, and ensuring compliance with compensation policies and regulations. The Compensation Analyst works closely with Human Resources and business leaders to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that enhance the organization's compensation strategy. Additionally, the Compensation Analyst supports compensation projects including the annual merit process, incentive planning, process improvement initiatives, and HRIS updates.

Essential Functions

  • Analyzes compensation data, conducts research, and generates reports to recommend process improvements, enhance efficiencies, and ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Utilizes HR systems and external salary survey data to fulfill compensation-related data requests and support decision-making processes.
  • Conducts detailed analyses for new or revised job roles to determine appropriate job mapping, salary grade assignments, and incentive compensation (IC) alignment based on salary survey data, market trends, internal equity, career progression, and organizational goals.
  • Evaluates job duties and responsibilities to determine proper FLSA classification as exempt or non-exempt, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews and audits of system transactions, making necessary corrections to ensure alignment with the organization’s compensation philosophy, policies, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participates in compensation-related projects, ensuring accuracy, timely progress, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Completes market salary surveys on an annual basis or as needed to support compensation decisions.
  • Supports the annual compensation review process, including merit increases, market adjustments, and incentive planning, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies.
  • Provides recommendations for compensation-related process improvements, identifying opportunities for efficiency and enhanced market competitiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in compensation analysis, HRIS, data analytics, or other HR related role required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions for data analysis.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local wage laws, and compensation principles, ensuring compliance in all compensation-related matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Demonstrates integrity and adheres to the highest ethical standards in all work-related activities.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or working towards CCP preferred
