DescriptionThe Physician Compensation Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting data specific to provider compensation. The Analyst will ensure system policies, procedures and regulations are followed through validation of reports, and review of employment agreements. The Analyst ensures adequate systems of control are in place and working effectively. The Analyst acts as a designated resource to manage physician compensation agreements, and production reports as they pertain to organizational pay models and benefits.
ResponsibilitiesFunctions as designated resource to manage physician compensation agreements as they pertain to compensation pay models and benefits
- Serves as a liaison with Recruiting, Compensation and Benefits, Clinic Operations, Provider Relations and Legal to validate hire and on boarding, and that employment agreements and amendments are executed
- Verifies that physician compensation is in compliance with employment agreements, pay models, and survey data
Serves as the lead analyst for provider compensation
- Produces and maintains pay models and calculations for all employed physicians, to include pay components such as quality, customer service and other measures that will affect compensation
- Submits base compensation adjustments and additional payments to the Director, Physician Compensation and Clinic Directors for approval and communication to the provider
- Leads the process of collection, analysis, and reporting of data specific to physician productivity, practice revenue, quality, expenses, compensation and other measures
- Collaborates with Employment Services, and Compensation & Benefits to ensures all physician actions are consistently managed and executed
- Performs wRVU audits
- Tests and validates Physician and APP Productivity reports
- Reviews and audits Productivity Analyses performed by Provider Production Analyst
- Liaison between Population Health and Clinic Coordinators, providing and interpreting data
- Trains Provider Production Analyst staff
Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction
- Provides assistance to team members as requested or required

QualificationsEducation Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Information Technology or Healthcare Administration
- Preferred: Master's Degree or 7 plus years of Provider Compensation Analyst experience
License or Certification Requirements:
- Required: None
- Preferred: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Experience Requirements:
- Required: 5 years of experience administering physician compensation in a healthcare system with greater than 50 employed physicians
- Preferred: 5 years of experience developing and administering physician compensation programs
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry, including knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
- Proficiency in analyzing, reporting, and interpreting data
- Must be proficient with a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office
- Preferred expertise developing pay models and understanding physician contracts
Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Abilities:
- Ability to understand and interpret contractual agreements
Working Environment: Near-continuous direct visual observation of computer monitor, use of keyboard and mouse. May be exposed to outdoor weather elements while traveling to other departments or clinic locations
Physical Demands: The ability to speak and hear for required effective communication. Visual acuity and manual dexterity is required to process information and ensure accuracy of work. Must possess sufficient mobility to move freely about the organization. Position may require long and variable hours. May be required to travel from off-site office to main hospital and/or clinics
