About this Team:
The Global Sales Compensation (GSC) team forms part of the Sales Marketing & Global Services org. As Amazon Web Services (AWS) continues to grow, the Sales Compensation Design Team within GSC plays an important role in scaling revenue, processes and enabling strategy through sales compensation incentive design in support of thousands of sellers across numerous industries, geographies, and product lines.
About the Role:
As an AWS Sales Compensation Design Analyst, you contribute to supporting the landscape of our sales compensation structures. This position will support, document, and project manage all elements of sales compensation plans to achieve business performance, identify new process and design improvements and assist to drive sales behaviors towards sales objectives.
In this role, you collaborate closely with Sales Planning and Compensation teams, sales leadership, finance, and HR teams to document, learn and be curious, while learning compensation strategies aligned with our business goals and sales strategy. Your expertise will establish and prepare data-driven recommendations for plan improvements, comprehensive analysis, and business insights.
This role balances a blend of project management, business administration, analytical thinking with a deep understanding of sales compensation design. It offers a unique opportunity to support AWS sales strategy.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supports the implementation of sales compensation plans and structures under guidance from senior team members
- Assists in building scenario analyses to evaluate plan impacts and cost projections for specific programs or SPIFs
- Reviews plan performance metrics and provides data-driven insights to help inform compensation plan adjustments
- Implements and configures compensation mechanics and eligibility criteria based on approved business requirements
- Prepares compensation plan documentation and analysis for review by senior team members
- Coordinates with legal and finance partners to validate compliance requirements for plan designs
- Maintains and updates sales compensation plan review calendars and timelines
- Creates and maintains documentation for compensation plans, mechanics, and policies
- Delivers training sessions to sales teams on compensation plans and policies using established materials
- Works with implementation teams to execute technical requirements and coordinates with sales operations for plan rollout

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
- Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field
- 3+ years of sales compensation design
- 3+ years of financial and scenario modeling, statistical analysis, plan design tools, and incorporating sales compensation principles and best practices into plan design
- Experience in the technology industry and familiarity with technical sales jobs
- Extensive writing experience to lead senior leadership decisions
- Experience working in large or highly matrixed organization, preferably in the technology industry.
- Experience using Sales Performance Management tools e.g., Salesforce (or other CRM tools).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
