Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst for University Human Resources. This position reports to the Director of Business Partner Services. Under the general direction of the Associate Director, the Senior Compensation Analyst will independently participate in compensation activities throughout the university and assist with administration of University Human Resources’ ( UHR ) Compensation policies, procedures and processes. The incumbent in this role will perform job evaluations and make recommendations/determinations for new position classifications, reclassifications and in-grades; provide assistance with reorganizations and union reviews in accordance with bargaining unit contract stipulations; Understand and communicate compensation policies to clients and staff; Gather, analyzes and interprets internal and external job data. In addition to daily reviewing and completing submitted cases, while performing the essential key duties of this position. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides the UHR HR Consulting team with compensation assistance, assisting with servicing the university community with compensation matters to include: Reviewing submitted requests, position classification, compensation consultation; policy advisement; change management and resolution of compensation issues. Collaborates with HR partners on salary determination for new hires, promotions, transfers, and other compensation actions by ensuring compliance with bargaining unit agreements and University compensation policies, guidelines and processes. Makes recommendations regarding the classification and reclassification of assigned positions based on analysis and review of position documents, internal and external job data and internal policies. Prepares comprehensive recommendations and conclusions for assigned cases. Conducts classification and reclassification studies taking into account internal and external considerations. Utilizes market survey data and job documentation obtained from job descriptions, position information questionnaires and/or desk audits in order to classify jobs based on the scope and nature of the position. Assists with the documentation of compensation processes, procedures and practices. Ensures compliance with contract provisions of staff unions, in consultation and collaboration with Labor Relations. Ensures compliance with University and UHR policies. Participates in the review and maintenance of computerized systems relative to position request, position control, job descriptions and other compensation administration functions. Participates in special projects to promote, support, strengthen and expand the strategic role and partnerships with clients. Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’ regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working and negotiating with unions; and being part of a unionized environment. Experience in planning, organizing, and analyzing the effectiveness of compensation programs. Certified Compensation Professional ( CCP ). Prior experience in the higher education setting.
