What you’ll be doing:
The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s comprehensive compensation, benefits, recognition, and well-being programs. This role ensures that all total rewards initiatives are competitive, equitable, cost-effective, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals, culture, and values. The Director partners with senior leadership, HR, and business leaders to attract, retain, and engage top talent while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Compensation Strategy & Management
- Develop and lead the organization’s compensation philosophy, frameworks, and pay structures.
- Oversee job evaluation, market benchmarking, salary planning, and annual compensation review processes.
- Ensure equitable pay practices and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Benefits & Well-being Programs
- Design and manage competitive health, welfare, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Partner with vendors and brokers to evaluate, negotiate, and implement benefits offerings.
- Monitor utilization, trends, and employee feedback to ensure programs meet business and workforce needs.
- Incentives & Recognition
- Oversee short- and long-term incentive programs, including bonus and equity plans (if applicable).
- Develop recognition and reward programs that reinforce company culture and values.
- Total Rewards Communication
- Create clear and engaging communication strategies to help employees understand and maximize the value of their rewards.
- Provide education and tools to managers to ensure consistent messaging and application of total rewards policies.
- Analytics & Compliance
- Use data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the total rewards team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and senior leadership to align total rewards with organizational objectives.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years focused on compensation and benefits leadership.
- Strong knowledge of compensation structures, job evaluation methodologies, benefits design, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing total rewards strategies in a mid-to-large organization.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities, with a proven track record of partnering with executive leadership.
- Professional certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) strongly preferred.
