Job Description Summary

University Human Resources (UHR) has an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to serve as a Classification and Compensation Specialist on the Classification and Compensation team, which is a part of the UHR Talent Management team. In partnership with the Assistant Director of Classification, Compensation, and Talent Acquisition, UHR leaders, and campus unit leaders, the Classification and Compensation Specialist will be engaged in project-based work while simultaneously providing guidance on the administration and implementation of staff classification and compensation programs, practices, and policies. The incumbent will meet with HR Partners to develop strong relationships and influence campus regarding classification and compensation matters.


Physical Demands:

This is an office position that adheres to a standard work week. The majority of time is spent sitting at a desk at a computer workstation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional human resources experience in the areas of classification, compensation, or talent acquisition.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of relevant regulatory, compliance, and employment laws.

Knowledge of human resources policies, procedures and best practices.

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.

Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally.

Ability to work effectively with leaders and practitioners at all levels.

Ability to analyze data and provide insight and recommendations to stakeholders.

Ability to facilitate problem solving and approach client issues from a solution-oriented stance.

Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and work effectively under pressure.

Ability to assess and prioritize risks and issues and evaluate competing needs, while maintaining confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and with teams.

Additional Job Details

Preferences:

SHRM-CP, HRCI-PHR, CCP, or other relevant certification.

Experience in a large, complex, and decentralized organization.

Experience with Workday HCM classification and compensation modules.
