Summary

The Workers’ Compensation Specialist I is an entry‑level role responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims across multiple jurisdictions. This position serves as a key liaison between PEO clients and the third‑party administrator (TPA), ensuring timely communication, accurate claim handling, and strong adherence to best practices. The role requires excellent communication, strong time management, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.


This role can be based in a regional office in one of the following locations:

  • Rockwall, TX
  • Gadsden, AL
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Atlanta, GA

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage intake of new workers’ compensation claims across assigned jurisdictions.
  • Perform initial claims investigations and coordinate timely communication between PEO clients and the third‑party administrator (TPA).
  • Oversee ongoing claims activity, providing strategic guidance to adjusters and escalating complex cases when appropriate.
  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients regarding claim status, updates, and next steps.
  • Support and execute departmental initiatives, reporting on outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Review claim resolution plans and properly request authority in alignment with internal guidelines.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, best practices, and claims management procedures.

Experience Required:

  • 0–2 years of experience in workers’ compensation, claims, risk management, insurance, or a related field.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management or a related discipline preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, adjusters, and internal partners.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high accuracy and accountability.
