Job Summary

The Benefits and Compensation Specialist is responsible for being a subject matter expert in the DuraThrive Live Your Best Life Total Rewards Model and related programs in compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition, well-being, and HRIS technology. As a key member of the HR Team, this role is engaged in both strategic human capital initiatives and transactional work related to program policies, standards, and compliance administration. To ensure we deliver on a positive team member experience, this role requires frequent collaboration with third party vendors, providers, company leaders, and team members. 

Essential Functions 

  1. Administer and execute proper recordkeeping of the company’s Total Rewards programs ensuring compliance with company HR standard of operations; plan documents; government regulations; and related laws. 
  2. Is the subject matter expert (SME) to support HRIS-related activities such as maintaining data integrity, troubleshooting issues, report generation, and assisting with system updates related to Total Rewards.
  3. Responsible for the Job Description Catalog including the creation and updating of Job Descriptions from paper to paperless solutions. Ensure job descriptions are current and accurate in order to market price job roles effectively. Maintains technology solutions related to job description management.
  4. Responsible for managing the Benefits and Compensation email and internal communication channels and standards. Partners with others to create marketing collateral that promotes our Total Rewards Model.
  5. Responsible for the execution and maintenance of recognition award program(s).
  6. Supports the development and execution of the company’s well-being programs and initiatives.
  7. Supports the Absence Management activities with the workforce, Management, and the vendor.
  8. Partners with Management on the 401k Plan administration and recordkeeping.
  9. Participate in and lead Total Rewards education or information sessions with the workforce including acquisition team members. Actively engaged in acquisition integration of benefit programs.
  10. Partners with the Human Resources Team on special assignments and projects. Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of working with Human Resources technology solutions and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for compensation, benefits, and HR technology systems. Understands employment laws and regulations as applied to Total Rewards.
  • Uses critical thinking, logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Has the deductive reasoning ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • In office environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to five (5) pounds at times

Travel 

  • This job requires no planned business travel.

Education and Experience 

This is not an entry-level job role.

  • High School diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree highly preferred. Combined experience in this type of job role of a minimum of five (5) or more years’ experience and preferred education is necessary for success.
  • Must have experience in HR Information Systems including the scope of employee set-up and file maintenance; system configuration; data reporting; dashboard analytics.
  • Must have experience in Total Rewards administration related to compensation, benefits, rewards and recognition, and 401k plan compliance.
