Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a talented and professional Human Resources Analyst Intermediate, who provides professional Classification & Compensation support for the Department. You will ensure overall classification and compensation practices comply with relevant laws, regulations and organizational policies and management of compensation data, produce reports on equity and trends.

Job Duties:

- Conducts professional-level classification and compensation data, including position management and evaluations, FLSA determinations, and salary analysis according with ADOA guidelines and delegated authority
- Serves as a subject matter resource on classification and compensation practices, prepares job documentation and analytical reports, and identifies trends to support informed decision-making
- Evaluates, audits, and classifies new or existing positions and or position descriptions by conducting research and analyzing data to determine proper classification and alignment of duties and the organizational structure and makes recommendations
- Manages compensation data, generates reports on equity and trends, and develops written recommendations to address findings and ensures compliance
- Utilizes AZ360 for Human Resources functions to enters, updates, tracks, and validates classification and compensation data and reports relationships
- Administers classification systems, supports special projects, and lean initiatives
- Provides professional consultation and technical guidance to agency management and staff on classification and compensation matters
- Collaborates with ADOA and internal stakeholders
- Delegates approval authority in the absence of the Classification & Compensation’s Manager
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- State and Federal employment laws, including FLSA, ADOA Personnel Rules and Classification & Compensation guidelines, and ADCRR department policies and procedures
- Principles and practices of Classification & Compensation administration
- Organizational design and position evaluation methodologies
- Human Resources processes and systems, including AZ360
- Data analysis, reporting, and records management practices
- Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive) for routine communication, document creation and file management

Skill in:
- Analyzing complex information and applying classification standards
- Conducting compensation and equity analyses
- Interpreting and applying laws, rules, and policies
- Preparing clear, concise written reports, recommendations, and correspondence
- Using HR-related systems and databases to enter, track, and validate data
- Communicating effectively with management, staff, and external stakeholders
- Using Google Workspace tools to create, edit, track, and share documents, spreadsheets, and reports
- Manage shared drives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to:
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Provide professional consultation and guidance to leadership
- Learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and regulatory changes
- Utilize Google Workspace applications to manage data, develop reports, maintain shared databases, and collaborate in real time across teams while ensuring document version control and data accuracy

Selective Preference(s):

- Two (2) years of experience as a Human Resources Analyst or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
