Job Summary

    The Consultant II, Compensation serves as a Compensation Consultant providing analysis and support on departmental reorganizations, job reclassifications, and development of new job descriptions. As well as, pay-related decisions for new hires, promotions, market adjustments, and internal equity adjustments.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Conducts compensation studies to include, but are not limited to, internal equity reviews, performing cost analyses for salary adjustments, ad-hoc surveys, analyzing market trends, and developing recommendations based on findings.
    • Maintains documentation on all jobs within the assigned area including job descriptions, organizational charts, and relevant market data.
    • Reviews reclassification requests and requests for new positions, including gathering job analysis information, reviewing external market data, reviewing internal comparisons, and recommending grades/ranges.
    • Evaluates and provide recommendations on requests that impact employee positions (i.e., salary adjustments, promotions, reclassifications, etc.).
    • Ensures internal equity and external competitiveness in recommendations and decisions.
    • Assists with drafting job descriptions for new positions and/or revises current position descriptions.
    • Assists other functional areas within human resources as needed.

    Key Skills

    • Confirmed experience coordinating classification and job evaluation tools
    • A solid understanding of classification and compensation theory, practices, and guiding principles
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments to accommodate varied workload deadlines and conflicting requests
    • Extensive experience with developing strategic solutions to a broad range of classification, compensation, and interpersonal design issues
    • Strong communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely

    Qualifications

      Education & Years of Experience

      • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience

      Certifications

      • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) (Preferred)

      Additional Experience

      • Experience in commissions and sales compensation required
      • Experience with developing strategic solutions to a broad range of classification, compensation, and interpersonal design issues
      • Prior experience in classification of and compensation theory, practices, and guiding principles
      • Prior experience in prioritizing assignments to accommodate varied workload deadlines and conflicting requests

      Work Environment / Physical Requirements

      • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
      • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

        Pay Rate

        $100,000 - $119,000 Salary

        Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
