Overview

Position has responsibility for implementing and managing Executive Compensation programs and policies through working with the Board of Directors, Executives, Compensation Consultant and management throughout the Company.  This position will also supervise activities of Trustmark’s Equity Plan, Deferred Compensation including working with participants and plan administrators and manage all accounting activity related to those plans including GAAP disclosures.  

Responsibilities

  • Cross-train, lead and develop team of associates to promote maximum productivity, engagement, succession planning and overall contribution the strategies align with organizational goals
  • Determine proper accounting and GAAP disclosures required for nonqualified benefit plans and stock compensation
  • Prepare the Compensation Discussion and Analysis for Trustmark Corporation’s Annual Proxy Statement
  • Determine benefits available for deferred compensation participants either at retirement or death and proper GAAP accounting related to these benefits
  • Manage the activities of Trustmark’s stock compensation plan and deferred compensation plans, including vendor relations and accountability
  • Oversee month end general ledger accounting for the plans managed as well as benefit plans within HR
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or audit related position with progressive levels of responsibility and
  • Strong accounting acumen with the ability to analyze financial statements and budgets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications, primarily Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, Word, VBA and other database analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong project management, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with the Board, executives, senior leaders, accounting/finance and external partners to continuously align total rewards strategies with organizational goals
  • Ability to manage high-priority assignments with thorough attention to detail and perform in fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present complex analysis in understandable terms for appropriate management interactions (regulators, vendors, executives, etc.)
  • Conduct business with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or related field of study preferred
  • Experience in or knowledge of Proxy reporting guidelines preferred
  • CPA License preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
