EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation or human resources with demonstrated knowledge of compensation concepts, systems, administration and analysis.
· In-depth knowledge of compensation laws and regulations
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel or other data analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
· Experience working with PeopleSoft and/or CompAnalyst market pricing software
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/EQUIPMENT
Standard office environment and equipment, with occasional travel to Galveston campus.
*This is a contract position through University of Texas Medical Branch - Healthcare Systems Staffing (UTMB HCSS). There are no benefits associated with this position, with the exception of the 401k retirement plan offered through HCSS.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides compensation subject matter expertise and project management in the development and implementation of compensation programs, analysis, policies and practices. Mostly remote work with occasional travel to Galveston TX campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Conducts compensation analysis and market pricing of jobs, provides market adjustment recommendations and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding compensation-related issues
· Participates in compensation surveys, annual market data update process using SaaS compensation system and develops market-based pay ranges for positions within the organization
· Develops, implements, and oversees compensation programs and projects for base pay, supplemental and variable pay
· Maintains compensation data in PeopleSoft HRIS system and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements
· Evaluates new job requests to identify alignment with existing jobs, review of existing structures, market analysis and determination of FLSA status
· Partners with colleagues in Human Resources and Recruiting to provide recommendations for new hire offers, promotions and adjustments
· Documents and establishes standard operating procedures where needed
· Analyzes and interprets data to identify trends and recommend improvements to compensation programs
· Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and University of Texas System legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation and total rewards
· Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
· Performs related duties as required.
