This HR Data and Compensation Analyst – Workday role supports the execution and integrity of Essex’s compensation programs through data analysis, system administration, and audit compliance. It also plays a key role in managing wellness and recognition programs, ensuring alignment with company culture while contributing to Total Rewards initiatives and reporting needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Support the annual compensation review cycle through data preparation, analysis, and system administration.
- Participate in compensation surveys and market data analysis to assess the company’s competitive position.
- Assist in maintaining accurate headcount and compensation data to support salary planning and financial modeling.
- Build and maintain compensation-related reports, including incentive accruals, and workforce cost models.
- Lead ongoing audit and compliance activities across payroll, compensation, and benefits, including bi-weekly payroll and OTP audits, 401(k) funding and NDT audits, and invoice tracking, to ensure data integrity, proper coding, and adherence to internal controls.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting, including annual CEO Pay Ratio calculations, worker’s compensation reconciliations, and routine audits, ensuring alignment with payroll, tax filings, and company policies.
- Maintain and update compensation-related data in Workday, including job profiles, bonus plans, position attributes, one-time payments and position allocations, while partnering with HRIS to ensure data accuracy.
- Administer the company’s employee recognition program by tracking utilization, monitoring engagement, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Oversee the company’s wellness program, including program planning, engagement tracking, communications, and vendor coordination.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver wellness and recognition initiatives aligned with company culture and goals.
- Participate in cross-functional Total Rewards projects and initiatives, contributing insights and operational support.
- All other Adhoc reporting.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in compensation and benefits roles, demonstrating a strong grasp of best practices and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Adept user of PowerPoint and Excel).
- Experience with Workday is a plus.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:
- Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

Entails in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week consistent with the Company’s hybrid policy, located at Essex corporate office in Irvine. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.

The pay range for this position is $81,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $81,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
