“A Day in the Life”
As a Sales Compensation Manager you will lead the design, implementation, and management of sales incentive programs that align with business goals, drive performance, and support a high-impact sales culture. Manage the complete sales incentive compensation process for sales professionals, including sales incentive payments, data analysis, compensation systems, and stakeholder communications.
“What You’ll Do”
- Drive the conceptualization, design, and execution of sales incentive plans consisting of multiple components that align with business objectives, drive performance, and support a high-impact sales culture. Develop and track metrics to assess plan impact and alignment with desired sales behaviors and outcomes.
- Perform data analysis and modeling to measure plan effectiveness, test new designs, and provide actionable recommendations to sales leadership and stakeholders.
- Serve as the business owner of the sales compensation management system, overseeing configuration, user acceptance testing, data accuracy, and operational workflows. Collaborate closely with the IT team and the Xactly Technical Account Manager, providing necessary input and guidance to program new or update existing sales incentive plans, resolve issues, and optimize system efficiency.
- Effectively communicate and educate sales representatives, sales leaders, and stakeholders on plan mechanics and performance metrics.
- Calculate, validate, and process sales incentive payments accurately and on time.
- Manage and maintain all sales incentive plans, policies, and communications. Create, distribute, and manage sales incentive plan documents.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish performance objectives and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
Monitor market trends by staying current on industry benchmarks and competitive compensation practices.
Track market competitiveness of the sales incentive plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
“Must Haves”
- 7+ years of experience in sales compensation design, analysis, and administration
- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with sales compensation software tools, preferably Xactly
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills, able to work effectively across teams and stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks
