A well-established, full-service law firm with a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic region is seeking a seasoned Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Attorney to lead its expanding Employee Benefits practice. This position represents a unique leadership opportunity for an attorney who excels in a collaborative, client-centered environment and is eager to drive growth and innovation in the field of employee benefits law.

Design and manage innovative employee benefits programs, including retirement, health and welfare plans, executive compensation, equity, and deferred compensation.
Interpret and apply complex regulations such as IRC Sections 409A, 457(f), 280G, and 162(m).
Represent clients before the IRS, Department of Labor (DOL), and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).
Advise on ERISA-related matters including M&A transactions, defined benefit and cash balance plans, union negotiations, and retiree healthcare.
Provide guidance on compliance with ACA, HIPAA, HITECH, and wellness program requirements.
Serve a diverse client base that includes for-profit companies, tax-exempt organizations, healthcare institutions, and government entities.
Lead and expand the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice group.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Virginia, or willingness to obtain one.
Significant experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead a growing team.
