How will your role impact First Command?
We are seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst with a strategic mindset and advanced analytical capabilities to support the design, evaluation, and optimization of compensation programs for our Independent Field Force and Employees. This high-impact role will drive compensation strategy through data-driven insights, financial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping advisor recognition programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing enterprise-wide data governance.
What will you do in this role?
Strategic Compensation Design & Analysis
- Partner on the evaluation and redesign of commission structures to align with business goals and market competitiveness.
- Develop and present financial models to forecast the impact of compensation changes on earnings, profitability, and retention.
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and organizational restructuring through compensation analytics.
- Design and administer complex incentive programs, including performance-based bonuses and long-term incentive plans.
Advanced Data & Systems Management
- Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation data architecture across enterprise systems.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines and dashboards using Power BI, Power Query, and SQL to ensure real-time compensation insights.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
Advisor Recognition & Operational Support
- Partner on the development and execution of advisor recognition programs, including performance tracking, benchmarking, and ROI analysis.
- Collaborate with Marketing, HR, and Advisor Operations to enhance visibility and engagement of top performers.
Governance, Compliance, & Forecasting
- Interpret and apply Advisor Agreements, corporate SOPs, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compensation compliance.
- Partner with FP&A to develop and validate compensation forecasts and budget models.
- Champion data governance best practices and ensure protection of sensitive PII and compensation data.
What skills & qualifications do you need?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Work Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation analysis, preferably in a sales-driven or financial services environment.
- Proven track record of influencing executive decision-making through data storytelling and strategic insights.
Certifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with compensation management systems (e.g., ADP, CIQ, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite to include Power Query and PowerBI.
- Experience presenting complex financial data to executive leadership team members.
- Experience managing end-to-end financial analysis projects for senior stakeholders.
- Requires excellent ability to solve complex and ambiguous business problems
