OVERVIEW:
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the compensation strategy for the organization, overseeing and managing the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of compensation plans, including base salary, annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and equity compensation, ensuring they are competitive, fair, and aligned with the organization’s objectives
Prepare materials for and support the Compensation Committee of the Board, ensuring materials cover compensation trends, executive compensation decisions, and other key compensation matters.
Conduct regular market analyses to ensure that compensation programs remain competitive and compliant with industry standards.
Stay up to date on compensation trends, regulatory changes, and legislative developments, and ensure programs are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Effectively communicate and educate on compensation programs to the broader People & Purpose teams and enterprise, fostering transparency and understanding across the organization
Collaborate with HR business partners, senior leadership, and external consultants to ensure compensation programs meet the needs of the business.
Develop internal talent, identify/onboard new roles, and help set the ‘culture’ to support growth and performance
Manage key partnerships across finance and legal teams to ensure complete understanding of financial implications of our compensation programs
Oversee the delivery of strategic compensation initiatives in collaboration with the broader People & Purpose team, such as formalizing our compensation philosophy, modernizing our compensation structures and designing innovative incentive plans to support the delivery of key business results
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of compensation experience, including strong experience in designing and implementing compensation programs across a distributed workforce as well as corporate and executive levels and experience coaching and mentoring team members to support teammates through their skills and careers
Strong background in executive and equity compensation, and broad-based compensation design
Proven management & leadership skills with the ability to counsel on compensation strategies
Understanding of financial principles, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Proficient with compensation management systems and advanced Excel modeling skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written, presentation and diplomacy skills
Ability to lead people and develop talent
Ability to navigate sensitive topics with discretion and professionalism
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a results-driven approach.
Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed decisions that impact the organization’s compensation strategy.
