Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Oversees the administration of benefit programs, such as group health, dental, life, disability, flexible and health spending accounts, COBRA, retirement plans, leave of absence & accommodations, and all other benefits related programs.
- Ensures plans are administered according to plan provision and in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including FMLA, IRS, DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.
- Develops communication materials to support employee understanding and engagement for updates and plan changes in Goodwill’s Benefit Programs.
- Manages internal reporting and metrics of plans, including monitoring claims experience, and benefit plan expenditures to identify trends and make recommendations to minimize plan and budget risks.
- Manages and conducts compliance audits on all benefit programs and plan documents to ensure reporting, disclosure, testing, and other government requirements are being filed timely and accurately.
- Manage the input of data into Goodwill’s selected customer relationship management (CRM) system and prepare fundraising reports from the system for the senior leadership team.
- Supports the Human Resources Director by providing expertise in job evaluation, market pricing, salary survey response, benchmarking, compensation systems, and job description development.
- Supports annual compensation, including annual market pricing exercises and salary increase cycles.
- Serves as an escalation resource for employees on all employee benefits including plan and policy interpretation, answering employee questions, and ensuring accuracy of records. Collaborates with management on diverse compensation issues including resolution of pay issues, interpretation of compensation policies, and communication of regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Seven or more years (7+) of human resources experience required; a minimum of five (5) years of experience leading and managing compensation and/or benefit program design, annual compensation initiatives, and benchmarking/market analysis models preferred. Candidates with relevant experience will be considered.
- Must demonstrate experience with compensation and benefits systems and tools.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple assignments/projects, timelines and to identify project interdependencies, resource needs, and potential risks/pitfalls and develop mitigation plans.
Physical Demands:
- This job may have physical requirements that considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting to 15 pounds.
- Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
