Location:

Candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones preferred. It is anticipated that an incumbent in this position will work remotely from a location within the continental United States. Work location subject to change based upon business needs.

 

Travel:

Up to 25% annual travel required.

 

Job Description:

The BioMatrix People & Culture team is delighted to welcome a Total Rewards Manager who will serve in a strategic and hands-on role responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization’s total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, recognition initiatives, etc. This position partners closely with senior leadership and business leaders to ensure that total rewards strategies align with business goals, support talent acquisition efforts, drive talent retention, and foster an equitable and high-performance workplace culture.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required
  • In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, four (4) years of equivalent experience in compensation and benefits may be accepted
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits required
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with HR operations and business functions
  • In-depth understanding of benefits administration, leave of absence policies, and relevant state and federal laws
  • Experience resolving complex challenges while building trust and maintaining team focus
  • Proficiency in using analytics and metrics to drive business results and improve performance
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, tax regulations, and HR best practices
  • Developing understanding of financial drivers related to compensation and benefits
  • Technical proficiency, including experience with HRIS systems
  • A hands-on and strategic approach to the role

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compensation
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
  • Coordinate compensation and benefits processes to support business cycles and growth targets.
  • Conduct data analyses to assess the effectiveness and quality of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manage compensation infrastructure, including job grade evaluations, market pricing, and salary structures, to ensure competitive analyses and pay program assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations related to compensation.
  • Oversee the design and administration of recognition and rewards programs to enhance employee engagement and align rewards with organizational objectives.
  • Benefits and Leave Administration
  • Manage and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, leave, retirement, and wellness plans.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to benefit plans to support employee development and competitiveness.
  • Maintain relationships with benefit providers to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with benefits brokers to implement strategies for benefits improvement.
  • Address complex benefit plan issues and oversee premium payments.
  • Manage all leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and coordination with payroll.
  • Oversee annual benefits open enrollment, coordinating with brokers and updating HRIS and related documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate P&C processes.
  • HRIS Reporting
  • Total Rewards Communication
  • Develop and execute a communication strategy to educate employees about their total rewards package.
  • Create and distribute materials, presentations, and workshops to enhance employee understanding and engagement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding compensation and benefits.
  • Create and manage engaging and informative content for the company intranet and other digital platforms to effectively communicate benefits and total rewards initiatives and resources.

KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep knowledge of total rewards strategies, including compensation structures, incentive programs, equity plans, and benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local laws related to compensation and employee benefits (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
  • Expertise in compensation benchmarking tools and methodologies, including job evaluation, salary surveys, and market pricing.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and compensation planning tools (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to generate actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen to align total rewards programs with organizational goals and workforce trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex information to executive leadership.
  • Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and timelines effectively.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including benefits brokers, consultants, and external compensation services.
  • Strong change management skills to support program rollouts and employee communication.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR data with integrity and discretion.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion, ensuring fair and consistent application of total rewards programs across diverse employee groups.
